The picture of the fire incident that later become a murder case
(Kampong Chhnang, Cambodia): May 13, 2021, 10 AM, Mr. N.S, 28 years old, was convicted by the Kampong Chhnang Provincial Court of premeditated murder of 5 victims (including his wife, and his 4 sons) and concealing evidence (as fire incident). According to Article 200 of the Criminal law of Cambodia, the crime of premeditated murder is punishable by life imprisonment.
According to the Child Protection Unit (CPU), N. S who was reported as a victim in a fire incident on May 09, 2021. Because there are several requests from the neighbors, a careful investigation was remade.
Homicide Investigation Team (HIT) and CPU
- NS's neighbor report that this family has frequent quarrels. Domestic violence also reported once.
- NS reports that before fire he went to the toilet outsides the house.
- After the fire, NS did not talk, just sit on the floor outside the house, as he was too shocked.
- They observed to every burning corpse.
- the twins was holding firmly (seem like in fear); however,
- there are some deep cut injuries on the chest part of the wife
- The deep cut injuries look like a sharp object
- They found a burned Scissors covered with stain
Forensic Science Teams (FST)
- They decide an operation for each victim.
- It shows that Sareth's wife does not die because of the smoke since there are no present of smoke in her lung.
- This also applies to his three-year old son and his nine-year old son
-But the seven-year old twins has smoke presented in their lung.
- The burned scissors fit NS's wife injuries.
Enforcement Assumption
There is a high possibility that NS killed his wife, his three-year old son, his nine-year old son and leaving the twin dead in flame. That way it will confuse the police.
Criminal Confession
When his wife asleep with the boys, he has stabbed his wife several times in the chest part. (Does not remember how many times)
Then his three-year-old boy awakes and cries. To prevent this, he punches the baby to die.
The sound of the punch causes the his nine-year old son awakes.
NS suddenly twists the poor boy's neck to die.
The situation looks tense, he has come up with another scheme.
He collects some easily-burn stuff near the corpses.
The twins later awakes with full of fear and tear.
He tells the twins not to cry and promise them to go outside with him.
He starts the arson and waiting when the timing is right.
When the fire seems too hard to extinguish, he locks the door and leaves the twin inside.
